Lashan Silva is the CEO of Enhanzer, a company which is working in the field of big data cloud computing, business predictions and analytics. The company was founded in 2013 after MIT ran its pilot Global Startup Labs program in Sri Lanka. Lashan, a self-described “hard techy”, was introduced into tech entrepreneurship through this intensive boot camp.
Enhanzer’s flagship product is a cloud-based business integration platform eZuite. Currently, the platform helps businesses to process more than 2 million invoices a month in Sri Lanka. eZuite has recently been launched in Africa. Enhyanzer currently has 14 employees and expanding to 20 in January.
Saman P. Amarasinghe is an MIT Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Faculty Co-Director of MIT Global Startup Labs. He leads the Commit compiler group. His research focuses on discovering novel approaches to improving the performance of modern computer systems and making them more secure without unduly increasing the complexity faced by the end users, application developers, compiler writers or computer architects.
Through GSL, MIT student teams partner with universities around the world to deliver incubator programs focused on mobile technologies. They lead local student entrepreneurs through a real-world technology venture experience, mentoring the development stages of a startup and teaching appropriate technical platforms. The workshop culminates in a pitch and prototype competition. In 2018 the program will be offered in the following countries: Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Mauritius, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Rwanda, and South Africa.
