Hosted by: MIT Sloan Design Club

The MIT Fintech and Design Hackathon is a three-day event that seeks to revolutionize the way financial services are delivered by harnessing innovation and technology, and using a design thinking approach, to enhance accessibility. The event is open to all students, both within and outside MIT.

The hackathon will consist of two sub-hacks: One for fintech in commercial applications and one for fintech in humanitarian applications (otherwise known as MIT Hack – Humanitarian).

MIT Hack – Humanitarian is an opportunity for students to develop innovative financial solutions to alleviate the difficulties experienced by people who are affected from climate-related disasters – floods, droughts and epidemics. The 24-hour hackathon will challenge participants to develop a conceptual design and rapid prototype that would focus on two themes: Future Financing and Identity and Consent Management.
