Hosted by MIT Biotech Group

Scientific innovation is crucial to the biopharma industry, but also presents key challenges for clinical development. A clinical program takes several years to complete, after which point the standards of care may have changed dramatically. The impact that immunotherapy has had in melanoma and lung cancer exemplifies this issue. As the pace of innovation accelerates, the challenges grow more acute.

This seminar will discuss approaches to anticipating and adapting to continuing innovations in the field of oncology, including approaches for predicting the impact of new mechanisms on cancer treatment and the founding of a new collaborative paradigm for testing combination therapies.

The MIT Biotechnology Group is a student group that aims to increase the pace of biomedical innovation by building strong, symbiotic relationships between the MIT community and leaders in academia, industry, and finance. The group endeavors to facilitate development of the knowledge, networks, and experiences to prepare members for careers in biotechnology.
