MIT Sandbox provides seed funding for student-initiated entrepreneurship ideas, mentoring from within MIT and from a broad network of committed partners, and tailored educational experiences.

Open to all MIT undergraduate and graduate students, Sandbox provides up to $25K in cumulative funding and is structured into 3 cohorts per year (Spring, Summer, Fall) and each cohort has an application associated with it.

Apply to join the Fall 2017 Cohort! Applications for funding over $5K opens on August 14, and for funding under $5K, on September 18.

Over $5K applications

To apply, fill out an online application. All applicants will also participate in an interview, and may have to pitch your idea to the funding board which is made up of investors and industry experts.

  • Interviews: September 7-8, 2017
  • Interim decisions / invitations to funding board go out: September 15, 2017
  • Funding board: October 5, 2017
