Opportunity

Hosted by: MIT-Tsinghua Future City Innovation Connector & DesignX

Do you have an innovative concept for tackling urban or design issues? Are you looking for corporate or civic partners to help pilot your project in some of the world’s largest and fastest growing cities? Are you interested in marketing your firm, product or innovation in China?

Design X and the MIT-Tsinghua Future City Innovation Connector (FCIC) announce the inaugural China Ventures Workshop. The workshop will bring MIT entrepreneurial teams to China to learn about its startup ecosystem and to engage opportunities with cities and companies. The two-week workshop will take place at Tsinghua University in Beijing and include travel to several partnering cities. Faculty from MIT Design X, the China Future Cities Lab, and Tsinghua University will teach the workshop.

A series of preparatory lectures on Chinese city planning, economics, and markets will be given prior to the workshop.  Following the workshop, there will be potential opportunities to continue the development of your venture in China, with the sponsorship of partner companies and cities.

The MIT-Tsinghua Future City Innovation Connector (FCIC), jointly established by MIT and Tsinghua University, is a new program in MIT’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. FCIC selects prototype ready startups with strong competencies, connects them with Chinese market and industry resources, and supports them with pilot opportunities.

Design X is MIT’s program for accelerating innovation in design, cities and the built environment.
