Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Euro Area

The MIT Lab for Innovation Science and Policy and the European Central Bank brought together thought leaders in academia, government, risk capital, and industry for a two-day conference to address the innovation gap in the euro area.

The goals of conference included:

  • Calling policy makers’ attention to the growing EU innovation gap
  • Highlighting key role technology-based innovation can play in fostering growth in the region
  • Providing a framework for evaluating innovation & entrepreneurship at the ecosystem level
  • Helping to identify evidence-based solutions to overcome these challenges
