Electrical Engineer
Piaggio Fast Forward

PFF is looking for an electrical engineer excited for a unique role with an early stage startup shaping the future of urban transportation. You’ll work on multiple projects and be integral in our future product roadmap. You must be very forward thinking and have strong technical experience in robotics, power electronics and systems integration.

About Us

PFF was founded in 2015 by the Piaggio Group, the manufacturers of Vespa, Aprilia, and Moto Guzzi, to rethink how to better move people and goods in urban settings. The company’s mission is to help people move better, further, faster, and more enjoyably. We build robots and lightweight transportation solutions that travel behind and beside people on the move.

We launched our 1st product, Gita, in February 2017. Gita can carry up to 40 pounds and move at up to 22 mph, all with a zero turning radius. We’ve been featured in the WSJ, Techcrunch, Wired, CNN, and over 200 other news outlets and Forrester research said we will “change the way people work.” Join our 30-person team in Boston as we reinvent the future of transportation.

  • Developing power management systems, including: conceptual architecture, electrical schematics, capture circuit design, and PCB layout, and testing.
  • Planning, executing, and documenting tests to verify and validate performance, expose issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • You will work with an experienced electrical/software engineer that has already created the initial functionality of a prototype; you are expected to mature the ideas into robust designs
  • You will interface with the other PFF functions to ensure all requirements are met and potential problems are identified early and mitigated promptly.
  • You will interface with the Piaggio engineering, design, manufacturing, and service teams in Italy to take advantage of their 130-year history of expertise with 2-, 3- and 4-wheel vehicles
