LOCATION: IHQ (E38) 4th FLOOR STUDENT VENTURE STUDIO
DATE AND TIME: MARCH 15TH 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
ABOUT THE EVENT
We are looking forward to welcoming Bruce Boyd and Brigitte Gopou, inventors of the NuDred Hair Sponge, and HamdAllah Modupe Olona, founder of GoodieKrunch, for an in-depth discussion about their intellectual property and business journey. The discussion will cover topics such as finding competent patent, copyright, and trademark attorneys, how to read a patent application, and how to advocate for your invention. Jordi Goodman, a lecturer at Boston University School of Law’s Technology Law Clinic and patent prosecutor, will lead the discussion, concentrating on empowering inventors of color, women, and those inventing outside of academic spaces to advocate for their intellectual property rights. After an interview with the inventors, the discussion will open up for a public Q&A session. Food will be served.

The Inclusive Innovation Series pulls together events and initiatives organized by MIT’s innovation and entrepreneurship community around intersecting topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship. By convening the community around these important topics inside MIT’s newest home for innovators, MIT Office of Innovation aims to increase the ecosystem’s accessibility to communities historically underrepresented in innovation, entrepreneurship & STEM.
