Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Euro Area
A joint conference by: MIT Lab for Innovation Science and Policy & European Central Bank

The MIT Lab for Innovation Science and Policy and European Central Bank (ECB) are bringing together thought leaders in academia, government, risk capital, and industry for a two-day workshop to address the innovation gap in the euro area on March 13–14, 2017 in Frankfurt Germany.

Contributing to the dialogue will be ECB President Mario Draghi, MIT Provost Martin Schmidt, and MIT Associate Deans for Innovation Fiona Murray and Vladimir Bulovic, as well as many other notable speakers.

The goals of conference include:

  • Calling policy makers’ attention to the growing EU innovation gap
  • Highlighting key role technology-based innovation can play in fostering growth in the region
  • Providing a framework for evaluating innovation & entrepreneurship at the ecosystem level
  • Helping to identify evidence-based solutions to overcome these challenges
