Are you funding your startup?
Financing a startup has never been easier.. and harder. Venture capital funding of new companies continues to increase, with some leveling of late. VC investment in startups remained at about $12B for both Q4 2015 and Q1 2016, yet, with a smaller deal volume in the latter quarter, according to PWC’s oft-quoted MoneyTree Report. Angel funding, though totaling only about $24B per annum or one-half of venture funding, reaches a far larger number of startups. And, recent studies by Josh Lerner and others suggest that angel funding can be a significant factor in a startup’s success. Still, not all startups want or need funding to achieve great success.
Join us, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the offices of Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP, in Boston’s Innovation District, for an evening discussion on funding the startup…or not. Panelists include a former venture capitalist, an angel investor, and the founder of a startup that was bootstrap-funded before a successful exit last year. They will address where funding and the oversights it brings might fit into your company’s growth.
