About Akram

Dr. Akram Bayat is a PostDoc in the Health 0.0 group at MIT Media Lab working on novel intersections between engineering, medical imaging, and machine learning to improve health and diagnose and cure diseases. She completed her PhD in May 2018 in Computer Science at University of Massachusetts Boston. During her Ph.D. research, she worked on developing machine learning algorithms for solving real-world problems and conducted experimental studies for modeling of human physical and behavioral characteristics using data from sensors, wearable and mobile phones. Akram is interested in developing and deploying AI-based systems in medicine, education, and Human-computer interaction.
