About Bianca

Bianca is a Ph.D. candidate and an Alfred P. Sloan Scholar in the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT. She received a B.S. in Biological Engineering and Business, Economics, and Management (BEM), from Caltech. As a Marshall Scholar, Bianca received an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge. At MIT, she studies the surface proteome of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and applies machine learning techniques to improve vaccine design for tuberculosis. Outside of lab, Bianca is passionate about improving equity, justice, and the graduate student experience in the MIT community as the Graduate Student Council Vice President. She also helped craft MIT’s first Strategic Action plan on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
