2022 Inclusive Innovation Summer Grant

A paid, self-defined summer opportunity for MIT students underrepresented in STEM

MIT Office of InnovationHQ is selecting up to 10 undergraduate student members of underrepresented groups in STEM to pursue a paid, self-defined opportunity this summer.

Where
MIT InnovationHQ — You’ll have the full resources of MIT InnovationHQ available throughout the length of your summer.

Who
To be eligible to participate in this program, applicants must be currently enrolled MIT undergraduate student and be a member of a group underrepresented in STEM—either URM (underrepresented minority), and/or a woman.

At MIT and most other STEM institutions, the term underrepresented minority (URM) in STEM refers to groups that are not represented in the STEM fields in numbers proportional to their composition in the U.S. population:
—  Black or African American
—  Hispanic or Latinx
—  Native American or Alaska Native
—  Native Hawaiian, or other Pacific Islander

Why
This summer grant program endeavors to close the innovation gaps by reducing the financial barrier for underrepresented groups in STEM to pursue typically unpaid opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship.

When
Submit your proposal below for first consideration by May 1. The program will take place from June 2022 through the end of August 2022.
