Job Description:

SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, MIT Innovation Initiative (MITii), to lead MITii’s “Innovation Practice” strategy and aid the executive director’s efforts to establish, grow, and maintain MITii’s leadership role in the innovation community across MIT.  Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of MITii “innovation practice” programs and partnerships; designing new, innovative programs that create ways for students and faculty to engage with the innovation ecosystem; building, maintaining, and growing the full-scope structure of the programs and MITii partnerships; collaborating on fund-raising strategy to support MITii’s mission; planning, assessing, analyzing, and optimizing effectiveness of programs and return on investment for networks and major partnerships; researching prospective partners; collaborating with MIT departments on workflow processes regarding the running of innovation programs; developing and/or collaborating on presentations for innovation programs; working with the financial officer on developing and managing program budgets; managing events; evaluating, recommending, and implementing operations and enhancements for future programs; and performing other duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ relevant experience (management, customer relations, fund-raising, practice, etc.); fund-raising experience in a higher education or nonprofit setting; strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills; ability to initiate, collaborate, implement, monitor, evaluate, and advance strategic plans that support MITii’s activities; detail orientation; self-motivation; ability to work independently and manage multiple programs and priorities to meet challenging deadlines; desire to learn core maker skills; exceptional communication (writing and presentation), teaching/mentoring skills, and interpersonal skills; and ability to seek out root causes of issues, conceive innovative solutions to problems, and then move from concept to implementation. Experience working with hackathons, accelerators, incubators, and other “innovation practice” activities a plus. Job #15613-P
