The Lemelson-MIT Program celebrates outstanding inventors and inspires young people to pursue creative lives and careers through invention.
Programs & Opportunities
- Lemelson-MIT Prize: Awards outstanding mid-career inventors who have developed a patented product or process of significant value to society, which has been adopted for practical use, or has a high probability of being adopted.
- Lemelson-MIT Student Prize: Awards teams of undergraduate students and individual graduate students who have inventions in categories that represent significant sectors of the economy: healthcare, food/water and agriculture, transportation and mobility, and consumer devices.
- InvenTeams: Comprised of high school students, educators, and mentors that receive up to $10,000 each to invent technological solutions to real-world problems of their choosing.
- EurekaFest: An annual event held in June at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to celebrate the inventive spirit.
