About Andrea

Andrea is interested in finding sustainable solutions to society's most pressing issues involving the health of the planet, particularly in the water-energy nexus. Her research focus is on mechanisms of microplastics fragmentation. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Philosophy from The George Washington University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Andrea enjoys helping others with scientific communication as a CommLab fellow. She also helps create video content for the MechE department. In her latest project, Andrea is helping launch MechE ENGAGE, a graduate peer mentorship program.
