About Divya

Divya is a BE PhD Candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow at MIT. She grew up in Austin, Texas, where she earned a B.S in Biomedical Engineering and a B.A. in Plan II (Liberal Arts) from the University of Texas at Austin. She works in Ernest Fraenkel’s lab, where she creates integrative computational tools for multi-omic data to identify mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. She also served as a TA for 20.440 (Analysis of Biological Networks). Outside of lab, she tries to learn a new skill every semester – so far while at MIT, she’s taken classes in ceramics, glassblowing, hip hop dancing, carpentry, sewing, yoga, ice-skating, and choral singing.
