About Yirui

Yirui (Arlene) Zhang is a recent PhD graduate in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. Previously, she obtained her B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) and M.S. degree at MIT. Her research focuses on developing the design principles for energy storage devices, including rechargeable batteries and fuel cells. She enjoys mentoring and encouraging women to pursue STEM careers. Outside research, she likes cooking, running/fitness, and science outreach.
